Common questions

Yes. Creating one pain definition, all three input scales, entries with tags and notes, charts across 7 and 30 days, weekly trends, the heatmap and reminders are free permanently. PainTrack Pro adds unlimited pain definitions, longer chart ranges, the PDF doctor's report and data transfer.

Encrypted and exclusively on your own device. PainTrack has no backend and no account - no health data is sent to a server or into a cloud. You keep full control over your data.

Three: 0–10, yes/no and mild/moderate/severe. You set the scale per pain definition, and all three are available without Pro.

On the dashboard open “All entries” and tap the print icon. There you choose the pain definition (one or all), the content (“Entries only” or “Charts & entries”) and the period, from one week up to a year or everything. You then share the PDF from the iOS share sheet. This feature is part of PainTrack PRO.

On your old device go to “More” → Data transfer → Export. Share the .strack file via AirDrop, email or cloud storage and open it on the new device - PainTrack shows you a preview before importing, and entries you already have are skipped. This feature is part of PainTrack PRO.

A .strack file is a backup file containing all of your pain data, optionally including archived pain types. You can export it to move your data to a new device or to keep it as a backup. The file is not encrypted - only share it over channels you trust. This feature requires PainTrack PRO.

Yes. Under “More” → App lock you enable protection via Face ID or Touch ID. The app then locks on launch and every time it goes to the background; your device passcode acts as the fallback.

Under “More” → Reminders you set several times of day and the weekdays you want. You can also choose to skip the reminder on days you have already logged, and to get an evening warning when your streak is about to break. All reminders run locally on your device.

Via “More” → Manage subscription, or through the iPhone settings: Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions → PainTrack Pro. After cancelling you keep access until the end of the current billing period. If you bought Pro as a one-off purchase, it stays active permanently.

Since all data is stored locally, you delete it by uninstalling the app. Individual entries and pain definitions can be edited or deleted directly in the app at any time; pain types that are no longer current can be archived instead.
